Middleweight Test Analyst (Fixed Term)
Salary: £27,574.00 - £33,606.00 Per Annum

This charity is working hard to Save Nature. Much of that work is dependent on their Digital team and they need your help to ensure they delivery quality software.
The charity needs a Senior QA (Middleweight Test Analyst) to join them within the Quality Assurance team and work primarily on the Data projects, you will have proficient database querying skills (Transact SQL) to interrogate the databases.
The position on offer is a 12-month fixed term contract, within the Data related projects, this is not a frontend testing role, database querying (T-SQL) skills are paramount.
You will carry out basic research, analysis, development of test scripts, database querying using T-SQL, testing and documentation of new technologies and functionality as part of a wider Data team.
You will operate primarily within the Quality Assurance team, under the direction of a Scrum Master or Project Manager. From time to time you will also be expected to assist with the resolution of live support issues.
You will be able to communicate effectively with business owners and product managers to understand and test requirements and design and deliver solutions, while having the support of a Senior Test Analyst and the Quality Assurance Manager to help overcome technical challenges and provide guidance and experience.
You will be able to work both within an Agile sprint structure but also occasionally under your own initiative, depending on the nature of each individual programme/project or piece of work.
The Quality Assurance team is a dedicated technology services function within the Digital Technology team and the fixed term contract may have the opportunity to become permanent.
Essential skills, knowledge and experience:
- Highly proficient with Transact SQL (T-SQL)
- SQL Server Management Studio experience
- (SSMS)Experience with tools: unix/shell navigation/scripting experience, putty, winscp
- Experience with Ab Initio/data warehouse ( links/hubs/satellites/data vault, data manipulation like aggregations and joins)
- Experience of Azure DevOps - build/release pipelines, test cases/plans, build agents
- Experience with Visual studio
- Experience with SQL Server Test
- Experience of C# scripting
- Used Software version (git)
- Experience of Unit testing
Desirable skills, knowledge and experience:
- Coded Selenium (C#, java, python)
- Used API testing (postman, json)
- Used Jenkins/CI
- Experience with Chrome dev tools
- Experience with Document Object Model understanding (DOM)
