Mental Health Training & Development Manager

Location: Hybrid working – Work from home opportunities, plus regular work and meetings from their Peterborough (PE3) or Cambridge offices (CB1)
Salary: £35,713 (40hrs FTE), pro rata for part time
Days and hours: Contracted to work 30-36 hours as agreed, usually worked Monday – Friday
Contract Type: Permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mental Health Training & Development Manager to join this charity's Health & Wellbeing department to manage their training services and develop new programmes.

Working alongside the Health & Wellbeing Manager, you will:

  • Manage the development, growth and quality assurance of the Mental Health and Wellbeing Training Programme, whilst meeting annual targets
  • Support the Health & Wellbeing Manager and provide leadership on training and development, with a particular focus on Mental Health
  • Provide effective line management for the Training and Development team and sessional trainers
  • Develop and monitor team and individual objectives, to ensure department targets are met
  • Plan, manage and deliver a marketing strategy for health and wellbeing training including sourcing funding, sales, partnerships and new business alongside the senior management team
  • Manage and deliver a range of training and workshops for a variety of settings and audiences, ensuring a high-quality service is provided
  • Oversee opportunities to grow, co-ordinating delivery of wider wellbeing training within the Health and Wellbeing team (e.g. first aid)
  • Represent the organisation at internal and external events, membership groups and strategic meetings involving education or the wider health and wellbeing agenda – delivering presentations, consultations and developing new partnerships.

You will have and be able to demonstrate the following qualities:

  • Possess a Level 4 or equivalent in Counselling, Play Therapy or related Mental Health qualification and have clinical experience working with young people
  • Sound knowledge of the children and young people’s mental health agenda, and local/national approaches and initiatives
  • Proven experience of developing and delivering high quality mental health training to adults and young people
  • Knowledge and experience in using various marketing approaches
  • Experience in project management and partnership development
  • Leadership experience with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to effectively manage both yours and your wider teams workload
  • Highly organised, possessing excellent negotiation and time management skills
  • Confident user of IT
  • Hold a current driving licence and have access to own car for work. This is an essential criteria due to the nature of the role.
