The West Yorkshire Liaison and Diversion Service works with people of all ages (including children and young people) with a wide range of vulnerabilities including mental health issues and learning disabilities, who have offended or are at risk of offending. They support service users who have contact with police stations, the courts, prisons and probation. Funded by NHS England, they have 6 teams, based at or near the Wakefield, Leeds, Calderdale, Kirklees and Bradford Police District Headquarters. The service also covers Leeds and Bradford Magistrates and Crown Courts and Kirklees Court.
The Liaison and Diversion service is a multi-agency, multi skilled team, delivered by a consortium led by Wakefield Council, of which our client is a key partner, across the West Yorkshire police force area. The aim is to work together to reduce the risk factors for reoffending by providing short-term support and signposting service users into longer-term support services.
A need has arisen within the Kirklees team for a Senior Social Worker.
