What will a ‘typical’ day look like?

  • Take ownership of processing invoices the charity receives from suppliers
  • Ensure that invoices are cleared for payment by checking against purchase orders
  • Taking pride in ensuring invoices are coded and entered onto their Sage accounting package correctly
  • Pull together the information for a payment run to pay suppliers
  • Maintain direct debit paperwork
  • Help the Claims team with the documentation they need to give to funders
  • Process credit card, prepayment card and petty cash transactions and proactively chasing up queries and receipts
  • General filing and scanning and any other special finance tasks that crop up

What do they need from you?

  • Experience of working in a finance role
  • Good technical experience of excel and an accountancy package, preferably Sage.
  • Keen to study AAT or perhaps have already made a start
  • Be a great communicator
  • Well organized and can meet realistic deadlines
  • Genuinely want to do your best – pride in being accurate
  • Not afraid to ask if you’re not sure
  • Work well with others
