Our client, a Cambridge College, has an impressive track record of alumnae relations and fundraising, underpinned by a high-profile programme of eclectic events, and is seeking to recruit a suitably experienced Development Officer to join the team.
Development Officer
Full time, permanent
Salary £32,348
Maintaining and developing strong, productive relationships between the College and its supporters is key to this role. The main focus is on implementing an imaginative regular giving programme which incorporates fundraising events such as the annual fund and telephone campaign, along with implementing their legacy programme. There will be the opportunity to foster a portfolio of supporters and prospects, and to get involved with a range of activities and events designed to support stewardship.
This is a permanent, full-time post, paid at spine point 39 on the University’s single salary spine, which currently is £32,348 per annum. Working 37.5 hours a week, this post calls for large amounts of flexibility at key points in the year. Additional hours are primarily compensated for by taking time off in lieu. The College offers membership of the USS pension scheme, to which the College makes employer contributions of 21.6%. Holiday entitlement is 33 days per year (inclusive of bank holidays), and other benefits include a free meal when on duty, free car parking where available and subsidised use of the College’s gym facilities.
The regular giving and legacy programmes represent vital strands of the College’s fundraising activity, contributing to the broader culture of giving across the College and underpinning the financial health of the College. The College is running a £25M fundraising campaign, and they are seeking an experienced fundraiser with a pro-active, “can do” attitude to work in conjunction with the Deputy Development Director and wider team to embrace the opportunities which will appeal to their alumnae and encourage them to continue to engage with the College and to feel involved.
They welcome applications from those with charity sector experience in a similar role looking to transition into working in fundraising within Higher Education and from those with transferable skills from other sectors and industries.
Closing deadline for completed applications: 12 noon on Monday 3rd April 2023.
Interviews will be held during the week commencing 17 April 2023.
This College is an equal opportunities employer.
