Hours: 35.25 hours per week (5 evening shifts plus flex admin hours), Flexible across Monday - Sunday (5:00pm – 11:00pm)

About our Crisis Phoneline Team
Our Crisis Café service is working collaboratively with East London NHS Foundation Trust (ELFT) Crisis Phoneline. We are working to support the Crisis Phoneline Team by providing mental health assessments over the phone to ensure everyone is able to access the support they need when approaching or experiencing a mental health crisis.

About the Role
The role will involve supporting the operation of and working on the phoneline to assess needs, appropriately signpost and provide onward referrals into the Mind BLMK Crisis Cafes and any other relevant local services. The role will be part of the larger Mind BLMK Crisis Café team and co-location with ELFT’s Crisis Phoneline to ensure service users are accessing appropriate medical and community support.

As a Manager, you will be expected to coordinate and ensure the effective delivery of a team, provide line management and support to Crisis Recovery Navigators who will be responding to phone calls on ELFT’s Crisis Phoneline. One day of your working week will be used to complete admin tasks and promote the Crisis Café service across BLMK by building strong multi-agency working relationships with local organisations, professionals and attend events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in collaboration with ELFT’s Crisis Phoneline Team to provide appropriate triage over the telephone, and signpost appropriately to reduce pressures on statutory services and re-direct to Mind BLMK’s Crisis Service and wider support options in the community.
  • To manage a relationship with the mental health trust which ensures effectiveness of the crisis pathways for those who need further support.
  • Work with the Assistant Crisis Development Manager to ensure regular involvement of service users, volunteers and staff on local service delivery, organisational matters and wider mental health and crisis care strategies.
  • Support the operation of ELFT’s Crisis Phoneline and ensure outcomes which supports staff to appropriately assess needs, signpost and refer into the Crisis Cafes, in line with Mind BLMKs vision and values as well as contract requirements.
  • Maintain an effective workforce for the service in line with Mind BLMK’s HR policies, procedures and guidance (recruitment, line management, workload planning, support and development of crisis workers, peer support workers and volunteers).
