Cleaner - Part-Time (Forsinard Flows)

Salary: £9.21 - £10.21 Per Hour

This is a great opportunity to work on the largest nature reserve in the UK which is arguably one of the most pristine blanket bogs in the world. The reserve has a stunning array of wildlife with many of Scotland’s rare breeding birds present, although you will not be doing any of the conservation work you will be a great support to the staff and volunteers.
About the role:
Cleaner required to take a proactive approach to presenting a clean, environmentally friendly and professional work environment, so that staff, volunteers and visitors have a comfortable experience in our client’s Field Centre, Bunkhouse and Visitor Centre.
The job is based at Forsinard Flows and is for 2 hours a day Monday to Friday although some overtime might be required. Normal hours would be 5 pm to 7 pm but this can be altered if you cannot do these hours. Due to the remote location, the successful candidate should be able to travel to remote location without the use of public transport.
Key Result Areas:
To ensure the cleaning, sanitising and recycling tasks (all materials, including food waste where appropriate) for the Field Centre and Visitor Centre are completed to a high standard so that staff and volunteers are presented with a professional and safe environment in which to engage supporters and members of the public.To ensure that products used in the cleaning and sanitising of the office/site are all eco-friendly to support the charity’s Environmental Management System procedures and site Green Action Plans.To ensure recycling and waste is disposed of appropriately in order to comply with local council legislation.To work with staff and volunteers to reduce the amount of waste, enabling the charity to reduce their carbon footprint and make financial cost savings.To adhere to all manual handling procedures in all tasks to ensure that the risk of accidents and/or injury is minimised to all staff, volunteers and visitors.
What they need from you
English Language GCSE or equivalent qualification, demonstrating an ability to read and write English.Knowledge of the use of cleaning products (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)) to ensure products are used in a safe and appropriate manner.Understanding of Health and Safety in the workplace and manual handling.Time management skills.Ability to engage positively and communicate effectively with office and site staff.Worked in a busy commercial environmentBe able to manage and safely transporting cleaning products around the office/site.Due to the remote location, the successful candidate should be able to travel to remote locations without the use of public transport.
