Job title: Catering Assistant
Salary: National Minimum Wage
Hours: Minimum 25 hours per week OR 16 hours per week available. You will be employed on a flexible contract and will be expected to work additional hours. These flexible hours will be agreed by your manager, with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice given prior to any additional hours being worked.
Reporting to: Catering Supervisor
Location: Land of Oak and Iron Heritage Centre, Winlaton Mill, Gateshead

About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a Catering Assistant to join our Café Shrub Team. Working with a supportive brigade, you will be involved with the day-to-day running of catering services, providing exceptional customer care and maintain consistently high standards of service, hygiene and health & safety.
The role requires a positive and flexible approach, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced customer environment. In addition, the role will require weekend working and some evening working.
Within the fixed hours per week role you may be asked to deputise for the Catering Supervisor due to absence/holidays.
About you
We are seeking someone who is outgoing and enthusiastic, preferably with experience of customer service in a fast paced catering environment. You will be an excellent communicator who is open, honest and acts with integrity. You will be flexible and willing to tackle any task or role assigned to you with a positive attitude.
With a passion for food and delivering an excellent service, you will also have knowledge of food safety and health and safety principles.
