Salary: 
£11.15 per hour
Hours: Minimum 35 hours. You will be employed on a flexible contract and will be expected to work additional hours. These flexible hours will be agreed by your manager, with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice given prior to any additional hours being worked.
Location: Winlaton Mill, Gateshead

About the role
An opportunity has arisen for a creative, passionate, and enthusiastic chef to join our kitchen team at the Land of Oak & Iron Heritage Centre. You will be responsible for the delivery of freshly made to order dishes to provide a high quality café and takeaway service.

Duties will include:

  • Manage the Kitchen’s operations
  • Being responsible for day to day running of kitchen
  • Monitor and order stock as necessary through liaison with various local suppliers
  • To work with the team to ensure catering requirements for bookings and events are met.
  • Ensure high level of customer care is maintained at all times, including responding to customer feedback
  • Ensure that catering operations meet and exceed food hygiene and health and safety guidance and good practice at all times

About you
The role requires a positive and flexible approach with the ability to operate effectively in a fast paced customer environment. In addition, the role will require weekend working and some evening working.
